Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (KASE) sits at 7,820 feet elevation, three miles from downtown Aspen and a five-minute transfer to the Silver Queen gondola at the base of Aspen Mountain. KASE is the busiest mountain executive airport in North America and one of the most operationally demanding — short runway (8,000 ft), high-density-altitude take-offs, surrounded by 14,000-ft peaks.
Only specific aircraft types are permitted at KASE: Citation X, Challenger 300/350, Falcon 2000, Global 5500/6500, and Gulfstream G280/G450/G550. Heavy ULR jets such as the G650 and Global 7500 are restricted on grounds of approach geometry and tyre limitations. We pre-clear the aircraft type with the operator at quote stage.
Atlantic Aviation is the sole FBO and handles 10,000+ movements per peak winter season. Slot reservations for Christmas, New Year, and Presidents' Day weekends close 60+ days in advance — book by mid-October for the festive period.
