Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (LIEO) is the gateway to Italy's most prestigious summer coastline. The airport sits twenty minutes from Porto Cervo and the Cala di Volpe — the resort villages founded by the Aga Khan in the 1960s and still the centre of Mediterranean superyacht culture every August.
LIEO operates as both a commercial and executive airport, with Sky Services and Eccelsa Aviation handling private movements through dedicated FBO terminals. The runway easily accepts any Heavy or ULR jet. For guests cruising further south to the Maddalena Archipelago or Cagliari, helicopter onward is routine from the LIEO ramp.
August is the single contested month — Ferragosto week (10–18 August) sees Cala di Volpe, Romazzino, and Pitrizza fully booked twelve months out, and LIEO slot reservations close by April. We position aircraft from Olbia to nearby Cagliari (LIEE) or Alghero (LIEA) overnight when ramp space is full.
